Hyster 80 Forklift
Hello All,
I have a Hyster forklift (picture below) and it's not very clear to me how to use the clutch system. When I push the gas your pedal, the clutch i465 black also depresses, so I can by no means go anyplace very fast. IOW, it offers to be at nonproductive for the clutch to remain engaged. Maybe this is typical with forklifts, I don't actually understand.
This forklift emerged with the shop and I don't use it very much as I have got a bobcat S250. The proprietor said it had been something to do with the crisis brake becoming on or something, but it acts the same whether or not really the brake pedal will be on / away from. Any ideas?
Furthermore, it runs great, but I wear't actually use it so any ideas on its worth are valued as well. It will soon end up being in the classified ads section.
Thanks,

sorry no genuine expertise with that forklift but is the clutch i465 black on that device an real clutch i465 black like on a vehicle or can the forklift be driven like an automatic vehicle? It nearly seems like there is something on it that forces down the clutch system while giving it fuel automatically for throttling it up to make the growth go up faster. You would after that be able to press the fuel down, keep it in gear, and hold a feet on the fuel at the exact same period. That would indicate generally there should be someway to disengage it for normal driving.
The outdated Datsun at work does this but the cluch is usually linked into the brake your pedal. That forklift you can drive like an automated car though, it only has 1 forward 1 reverse velocity. No gears. - Lightweight aluminum

Nicely, it seems like a genuine clutch i465 black. There are two speeds on the column, and after that a lever for forward / change. I've searched the web for a user guide but no fortune.

I wear't obtain enough details from the article to actually advise. Query, possess you removed the flooring plate and appeared at what occurs when you push the gas? It is definitely achievable the parking brake (OSHA accepted) could end up being the reason. But find what is happening, sometimes it runs through the hydraulics to do this, until you understand you can't 'repair'. This looks like a great device and as He said, you can't compare it to the bobcat on hard surface, why not really contact the dealer and get them to arrive troubleshoot, after that determine if you want to fix or basically ignore and idle! When I was a dealer mechanic I possess ended up to machines that the consumer had been operating on for some period that turned out to end up being a little repair. Try out it. Jim

Ben,
I possess a 1999 Hyster that has a 4.3 chevy engine that power it and an automated transmitting. I only have solitary tires on the entrance of mine. I had been considering you may have a 100 and not an 80. Besides that I have had mine since brand-new and by no means had a problem with it as you explain. I perform all my very own maintenance and I possess ended up under the ground board many occasions. There is certainly no affiliation with the throttle and 'de-clutching pedal' (severe left pedal) There is a relationship between the actual brake your pedal and the de-clutching pedal.
The de-clutching your pedal allows you to shore into a pier or elevated system and rev the motor to speed up the lift, You may possess something that I feel not familiar with. If you consider a picture of the dashboard or the pedals at least I may end up being capable to talk you through the restoration.

Thanks a lot most for the tips. Sounds like I may end up being traveling it incorrectly. I'll get some images inside the taxi and post them tomorrow. This is a pretty old model. Probably late 70s or early 80s.
Agree the bobcat is not a alternative but the metal deliveries are usually less than 500 pounds as the parts I make are mostly pretty small. Also, I have an electric forklift for inside of function.
We'll I discovered one picture maybe it can assist. - Light weight aluminum

Jim. I believe you're right. It provides something to do with the emergency brake. Ill take plenty of images and article down the road. I can't disregard it because it't a discomfort attempting to move with the motor at nonproductive. When I allow the clutch i465 black out and give it some gasoline the clutch pushes back in by itself! It't like the fuel your pedal and clutch are usually inversely connected.Originally Posted byJim36266I don't obtain enough details from the post to really advise. Draw the ground panel and notice if there will be a hydraulic clutch i465 black booster on the clutch i465 black linkage.
It may end up being away of adjustment.

Yes, that is usually an older machine. And why it assists is that back again then they do not have got all of the hydraulic or electric powered add more on't that trigger some difficulties nowadays. From the bad image it looks like it is definitely a regular change. but I cannot tell if it provides a hydraulic clutch system. It may be going poor and when you enhance R.G.Michael. it will throw the stress plate at a velocity that leads to the clutch pedal to pull in. Hyster in my opinion is definitely the premiere fork vehicle, but they have many transmission factors that they experimented at 'OUR' expenditure. I would wager down the road's pay out that the clutch system is going out.
Sorry for the bad news. Good Good luck
Keyster: I know what you are talking about when you talk of the hydraulic cylinder on the linkage, some of the Datsun/Nissan vehicles and even the clarks had a cylinder on the top of the transmission that when you place 'brake pressure' on the pedal it would somewhat force in on the clutch i465 black lever to disengage to operate the Ur.P.M. up to raise the hoist faster. It really has nothing at all to do with the hydraulic program.

Right here are some extra pictures I had taken today. The 'car parking brake' will be somehow that red handle on the best, but it doesn't appear to do anything.

That 'car parking brake' is a Mico unit. It's basically a range lock installed in the brake pedal system. You proceed the deal with to Recreation area and mash the brakes and it should secure them up. To launch, draw the deal with down to the Discharge position, mash the brakes once again and you should become capable to move. If you actually mash on the park place you have to mash just as hard to discharge them.
A WAG on my part.the construction of the clutch pedal would show to me it's a hydraulically helped clutch, some Voodoo involved.

I have the specific same design forklift. It is the 1 that I acquired lower in Steubenville for two years when we were pulling stuff out of the aged Wheeling Pitt place. Very dependable device. On my lift the gas pedal will be linked straight to the carb. There is certainly no connection to the clutch or tranny at all. The clutch system is usually a standard non hydraulic kind. This will be a very easy forklift constructed possibly in the 60s.
Check to discover that there is nothing on the throttle linkage that is usually getting the clutch system linkage. If not, then the only other factor it might end up being is something internal where the improved rpm is definitely somehow influencing the clutch i465 black. - Aluminum

Thanks Rick I'll check tomorrow. I'm attempting to find information on this thing. So the plate says design H80 and a serial quantity of C4135. All my research doesn'testosterone levels even show those format of serial amounts. Is certainly this a L80C first produced in 1970 or even previous as it seems.

Rick,
Your forklift looks close but his provides a different clutch set up for sure.IMHO. I invested many years operating on Hyster L60-C vehicles and under no circumstances noticed a clutch pedal like Ben's. It't design resembles a gas pedal which would show to me that it needs little effort to actuate, not like a conventional your pedal which you just shove on. Hyster made some strange things over the decades.

Offers anybody actually examined the motor mounts? Allow's discover.boost throttle, engine torque twists engine and trans, changes clutch linkage geometry. Yup, might become. Flinstone gear can be a challenge. Shuttle shift hydraulic transmissions with a trans disconnect your pedal can be a problem also.
